If the OP had even bothered to form things more in a questioning manner, I might let it go, but the entire second half of their post was nothing but accusatory. You might think my post is rather negative, but I just can't be bothered to be any nicer to people who spread incorrect information while being partially to wholly ignorant about the topic they are making claims about. The only thing it does for people who don't read enough to know the OP has no clue what they are talking about is to make a negative impression on the game and/or GOG. If the OP had even bothered to form things more in a questioning manner, I might let it go, but the entire second half of their post was nothing but accusatory.ĭarkpoetcc: TL DR - This entire post is pointless. It is basic networking the kind that has many how-tos out there which could step through even a 80-year old non-technical person, were they so inclined to fix their "problems." Neither has anyone I have played with ever had issues. I have had ZERO issues, ever, getting this game to connect to people, regardless of running GOG Galaxy (which I use). If you cannot be bothered to spend even a modicum of time researching / learning about a topic that you aren't informed enough about, then do not go online and basically call out everyone but yourself when facing basic multiplayer issues. Seriously, the only thing that this post does, thanks to the ignorance of the OP, is to cast doubt on the platform (GOG), the developer (ConcernedApe), and the game (Stardew Valley). Now, in a time where there are at least thousands, if not millions, of help articles less than 10 seconds away to show one what is needed, someone makes this kind of post?!?
Stardew valley multiplayer how to#
Holy Hades, I learned how to address this when I was 15, back in 1995, when most people in my town did not even know what the hell the internet was.

I never played any multiplayer so I can't confirm but according to other people it should work without galaxy

This small print warning needs to be reworded and made more prominent! Do you guys both have the same version of the game? It should work even with linux if you use the LAN method.
Stardew valley multiplayer windows#
I can understand the game requiring Galaxy (BS though since Galaxy is Windows only and the game advertises linux compatibility AND Galaxy is meant to be optional), but what I can't understand is why Direct IP doesn't work if it's written there? All multiplayer connection methods are cross-compatible with the Steam version of the game." "Multiplayer Notice: Multiplayer is available online via GOG Galaxy, as well as via LAN and Direct IP. We both play on Linux and after spending a long time looking into it I found this at the bottom of the store page: After some digging I discovered he needs to logged into GOG Galaxy. My friend has just bought a copy of Stardew Valley to join me playing on Linux (as advertised it can do), however when he launches his copy from GOG it doesn't show him the option to join via invite code.
